“Iran is implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the JCPOA,” said Amano on Friday in an address to the UN General Assembly, UN News website reported.
It is “essential” that Iran continues to fully implement those commitments, he underscored.
Turning to other major areas of work, the head of IAEA briefed the Assembly on technical cooperation initiatives, in healthcare, food and agriculture, as well as some industrial programs.
While the IAEA has repeatedly confirmed Iran’s commitment to the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the US president pulled his country out of the JPCOA in May and reimposed all of the sanctions on Iran that had been lifted after coming into force of the agreement.
