Increase in steel production is hampering the balance of demand and supply. Export of steel is decreasing gradually owing to US Sanctions. There has been a downfall of 32% M-o-M in export during the 5th month. The total production of steel in the country is much more than domestic consumption and a portion of it about 30% should be exported in any case.
Mobarekeh Steel Company was by far the largest manufacture of DRI in Iran during the current Persian year, the company produced 2,996,007 MT DRI, registered a downfall of 3% Y-o-Y.
Khouzestan Steel was the second largest DRI producer during the current Persian year. The company produced 1,518,749 MT DRI in current year by registering a downfall of 12% Y-o-Y.
Other major producers includes HOSCO (748,547 MT), South Kaveh Steel (637,592 MT), Khorasan Steel (529,841 MT) and Saba Steel (465,373 MT).
Major Iranian steel manufacturers has produced 3,187,800 MT of billet and bloom during the current Persian year, registered a growth of 14% Y-o-Y.
Khouzestan Steel Company was the largest producer of billet and bloom in current Persian year, the company produced 874,885 MT of billet and bloom during the period, registered a downfall of 4% Y-o-Y.
Esfahan Steel Company was the second largest producer of billet and bloom in current Persian year. The company produced 942,837 MT bloom in current Persian year, by registering a growth of 2% Y-o-Y.
South Kaveh Steel was the third largest producer of billet and bloom, followed by Khorasan Steel and Chadormalu with production of 438,029 MT billet, 402,336 MT billet and 357,427 MT.
Mobarekeh Steel Company was the largest producer of Slab during the current Persian year. The company produced 2,792,955 MT during the period, registered a growth of 7% Y-o-Y.
Khouzestan Steel was the second largest producer of slab in the nation during the period. The company produced 717,817 MT of slab in current Persian year, registered a growth of 32% Y-o-Y.
Hormozgan Steel Company, a subsidiary of MSC, was the third largest producer of slab in current Persian year, followed by Saba Steel. The companies produced 625,033 MT and 526,997 MT respectively with growth of 8% and 99% Y-o-Y respectively.
