Close to 4.5 million passengers and 49,567 tons of cargo were transported during the period, indicating a 4% and 3% year-on-year decrease respectively, IAC reported on its website. As for domestic flights, 28,780 takeoffs and landings were registered, down 3% YOY. More than 3.29 million passengers and 28,133 tons of goods were transported domestically, indicating a 6% and 5% decline respectively over last year’s corresponding period. On the international front, about 8,062 takeoffs and landings were registered, remaining unchanged YOY. A total of 1.2 million passengers and 21,434 tons of cargo were transported to and from overseas destinations, posting a 2% increase in passenger transport, while cargo transport remained unchanged YOY. Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was the busiest domestic airport during the period, followed by Imam Khomeini International Airport and Mashhad International Airport.
