Inauguration of 2 Iron Ore Processing Plants in Sangan

Two iron ore processing plants were inaugurated in Sangan by First Vice President, Es’haq Jahangiri. Also, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Mohammad Shariatmadari and chairman of the board of IMIDRO, Mehdia Karbasian attended the inauguration ceremony.

National Development Iron ore concentrate plant has production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year. It was established through the investment of 8 trillion rials and led to direct employment for 200 persons.

Also, Jahangiri inaugurated Opal Parsian pelletizing plant with annual production capacity of 5 million tonnes. This plant was constructed by 11 trillion rials investment through partnership of IMIDRO (40 percent investment) and Parsian Bank Investment company (60percent investment).

Pilot production of this plant was lunched at summer 2017.Second largest pelletizing plant at eastern part of the country created 150 direct employment.

Since 2013, above mentioned projects were stagnant but IMIDRO’s management in 11th government activated and implemented these projects through new strategies of cooperation with private sector.

During the inaugurated ceremony, Jahangiri noted the Iranian engineers’ capabilities and stressed that creative power has been created in human resource which can perform design, engineering and production of equipment for pelletizing plant.

He added that in resistance economy we are looking for dynamic forces. Another subject is investment of private sector in these projects. How could government to invest and complete these projects by construction budgets? Participation of private sector is the aim of the resistance economy.
