Mohsen Zarrabi added that another route between Chabahar and Sohar will also come on stream in the near future, Mehr News Agency reported. Khorramshahr Port in the southwestern Khuzestan Province is situated in the northwest of Persian Gulf.

Sohar Port is a deep-sea port located in Sohar, the capital and largest city of Al Batinah North Governorate midway between Dubai and Muscat.

Iran and Oman started direct shipping via the Iranian port of Bandar Lengeh–located in Hormozgan Province on the coast of Persian Gulf–and Sohar Port in April 2016 with the export of pipes to the Islamic Republic and import of gypsum by Oman.

Earlier in February, the two countries launched another direct shipping route from Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port–also in Hormozgan Province–to and from Sohar.
