Alba wins Leading Corporate for Investor Relations, Bahrain 2017

Bahrain-based international aluminium smelter, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) is pleased to announce that it was the recipient of the ‘Leading Corporate for Investor Relations – Bahrain’ at the Middle East Investor Relations Association's 2017 IR Awards (MEIRA) 2017 that was held in September 2017 in Dubai.

The MEIRA, in collaboration with WeConvene Extel, recognises the performance of corporate and individual Investor Relations (IR) professionals in the Region. In total, 294 qualifying responses from 181 separate organisations (buy-side and sell-side) were received this year.

Commenting on this occasion, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray said:

“We view investor relations as a commitment to our shareholders and stakeholders and are honoured to receive this prestigious award for the 7th year in a row. This award endorses Alba’s transparent corporate governance policies as well as recognises our continuous efforts in engaging with the investment community, both regionally and internationally.”

It is noteworthy that in 2010 Alba launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) as well as completed its dual listing on the Bahrain Bourse and London Stock Exchange. The Company’s current shareholders are Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (69.38%), SABIC Industrial Investment Company (20.62%) and the General Public (10%).
