NMDC Steel achieves record production at its TSCR facility in India

Danieli QSP® (Quality Strip Production) technology enables high-grade hot-rolled coil production

me-metals: NMDC Steel Limited recently achieved its highest-ever monthly production, reaching 100% of rated capacity at its integrated steel plant, marking a key milestone in the ramp-up of operations.

According to me-metals cited by danieli.com, The plant is based on Danieli QSP® (Quality Strip Production) technology, featuring a Thin Slab Casting and Rolling (TSCR) configuration with separated roughing and finishing mills. This layout ensures enhanced process flexibility and enables the production of high-strength steels and Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processed (TMCP) grades for demanding applications.

The facility has been recognized as the first TSCR plant in India to receive the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) license for hot-rolled steel for welded steel pipes for pipeline transportation, in compliance with IS 18384. This certification confirms the capability to supply material for critical infrastructure applications.

Several specialty steel grades, including BSK 46, ISH 550 LA, and E450 BR, have been successfully produced on a commercial scale, expanding the product portfolio for infrastructure, industrial, and automotive sectors.

Supported by advanced process control and Danieli technological solutions, the QSP® plant ensures consistent product quality, operational stability, and efficient production.

The rapid achievement of full-capacity operation highlights the effectiveness of the selected technology and positions NMDC Steel as a reliable producer aligned with the growing demand for high-quality steel in India.
