Saeed Zarandi, CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group, stated: Iran is ready to cooperate with Tajikistan, especially in the field of steel and mining.
He added: "The country's steel market is still in the early stages of its growth and now needs long and flat steel products. Iran can meet the needs of the Tajik market in this regard."
According to the CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group, steel exports to Tajikistan have been limited so far, but given the country's industrialization process, there is great potential to increase exports of steel products.
Zarandi continued: "In recent meetings with the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, discussions were held on the development of distribution centers and increasing steel exports to this country; in this regard, Iran is ready to play a greater role in meeting Tajikistan's industrial needs." In addition, Iran has expressed its readiness to cooperate in the field of iron and non-ferrous mines in Tajikistan, especially in mining projects that there is potentiality.
He added: "Iran has also announced its readiness to provide water transmission pipes in order to support Tajikistan's water projects." Tajikistan, which has the largest freshwater reserves in the region, is planning to implement larger water projects, and Iran is also ready to cooperate in this regard.
The CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Group emphasized: Iran is trying to expand economic and trade relations between the two countries by developing steel industries and further cooperation in this sector, and this cooperation can lead to meeting Tajikistan's domestic needs as well as expanding trade with other countries in the region.
According to Zarandi, these discussions and agreements are taking place at a time when Iranian authorities, especially the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, have issued the necessary orders to pursue these cooperations, and the hope for the development of industrial relations between the two countries has increased more than ever.
It is worth noting that Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, arrived in Dushanbe on Tuesday at the head of a delegation including a group of deputy ministers of the ministry, government sector managers, and Iranian private sector activists.
