Higher prices and support from the new US administration are helping the US coal industry, even as overall demand for the fossil fuel continues to shrink.

During his election campaign, President Donald Trump promised to bring back coal jobs and remove environmental regulations.

But there are increasing worries that coal use will further add to the country's pollution crisis.
