Coal Transportation via Iran Eastern Railroads Up 51%
Coal transportation through the railroads managed by Islamic Republic of Iran Railways’ Sharq (East) Department topped 51,000 tons in the Iranian month to May 21, up 51% compared with the corresponding period of a year before, according to Mohammad Ebrahim Eqbali, director general of the department, which is in charge of the railroads in Iran’s eastern provinces.

IRNA quoted the official as saying that the department’s revenues associated with coal transportation jumped 63% in the period year-on- year.
Moreover, 326,500 tons of iron ore were transported via eastern railroads during the period, up 3% compared to the year before, Eqbali added.
