Iran’s Steel Chain Output and Exports Up in 9 Months on Year
Iran’s steel chain production and exports increased during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March21, December21, 2023).
According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Iranian steelmakers produced 24.492 million tons of steel ingot and 16.626 million tons of steel products during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March21, December21, 2023), indicating 3 percent and 0.25 percent growth YoY, respectively.
During the period under review, Iran’s pellet production stood at 44.843 million tons registering a 10 percent rise compared to the corresponding period of the last year.
Likewise, the country produced 28.088 million tons of sponge iron during this period that shows 6.5 percent increase year on year.
Steel chain exports
Iranian steelmakers exported 5.621 million tons of steel ingot and 2.477 million tons of steel products during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March21, December21, 2023), up7.6 percent and 1 percent respectively Y/Y.
Moreover, pellet and sponge iron exports stood at 7.224 million tons and 1.214 million tons registering 97 percent and 93 percent rise compared to the same period of the last year, respectively.
