According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) announced that Iranian steelmakers produced 15.422 million tons of semi-finished steel (billet, bloom, slab) during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22,2023), up 2 percent YOY.
During the period under review, steel products’ output stood at 11.112 million to register 3 percent growth compared to the same period of the last year.
DRI production up
Likewise, Iran produced 18.86 million tons of sponge iron in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22,2023), indicating a 6 percent increase YOY.
Exports rise
Furthermore, Iranian steelmakers exported 3.69 million tons of semi-finished steel and 1.538 million tons of steel products during this six-month period, registering 25.6 percent and 8 percent growth respectively.
