Infrastructure and Mining Projects Worth Over $2 b to Go Operational by March 2024

IMIDRO plans to complete and inaugurate over $2 billion infrastructure and mining projects by the end of the current Iranian calendar year(March20,2024), IMIDRO’s planning and empowerment deputy announced.

According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, completion and operation of Mehdi Abad lead and zinc projects with direct investment of private sector is one of the most important project which will be inaugurated by March 2024, Somayeh Kholosi, planning and empowerment deputy of IMIDRO said.

She noted the IMIDRO’s activities in infrastructure sector and continued: first phase of Mobarakeh Steel power plant with capacity of 300MW will be inaugurated by the end of September 2023. Also, the second phase with the same capacity to be operated by March 2024.

Moreover, the mega project of water transfer from Oman Sea to the 3 provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan, Razavi Khorasan and South Khorasan is being implemented, Kholosi added.
Employment
The operation of these projects will lead to over 6500 direct and more than 17000 indirect employments, she emphasized.
Noting the IMIDRO’s plans in technology development, she said that IMIDRO is planning to identify the potentials of knowledge based companies in strategic and critical elements’ sector.
