Iran’s H1 trade with India grows by 53% to $1.37 billion

The total volume of trade between Iran and India in the first six months of 2022 (January-June) stood at $1.37 billion, according to figures by India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The figure suggested a 53% growth against $897 million of bilateral trade in 2021.
India exported some $1.03 million of goods to Iran in the period under review up 52% from $680 million of the corresponding period of 2021.

India’s imports from Iran in the six-month period was also put at $335 million which shows a 54% year-on-year increase when compared to the country’s $217 million imports from Iran in the first six months of 20
Rice was India’s main export item to Iran during the mentioned period accounting for 60% of the country’s total exports to Iran.
Iran’s main export data-x-items to India were fruits and oil products accounting for 27% and 24% of Iran’s total exports to India in the six-month period respectively.
