During a meeting of a Polish economic delegation to Tehran and the Iranian businesspersons in Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA), the two sides called for joint investments of Iran and Poland in the steel sector.
The visiting Polish delegation was comprised of a number of businesspersons active in steel industry from the country’s Silesia Region.

Representatives from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Trade Promotion of Iran as well as the members of some related economic groups were among the participants to the event.
Speaking during the meeting, Chairman of Iran-Poland Joint Chamber of Commerce Rahim Banamolaei referred to the European countries’ difficulty in meeting their needs for many commodities, including steel products as a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine, and expressed hope that Iran can raise exports of steel products to Poland.

He also said that by the joint production of steel in Iran, the two countries can give a boost to steel exports to regional countries.
Niloofar Assadi, the ICCIMA Director of Bilateral and Multilateral Affairs, also addressed the meeting and said Iran produces an annual 12 million tons of steel at least a fourth of which can be exported to foreign countries.

The war in Ukraine has provided a chance for Iran to replace Russia in some European markets, Assadi said, expressing hope that Iran and Poland can boost capacities in the area of steel production.
In the meantime, Ryszard Turzanski, the Chairman of Silesia Chamber of Commerce, who headed the Polish delegation, referred to longstanding relations between Iran and Poland, expressing hope that his visit to Iran would further enhance cultural and trade relations between the two countries more than ever.
