Mashhad-Muscat flights resumed last week after three years, according to the director general of Khorasan Razavi Airports Organization.
“The first flight was launched on May 4. The flights are scheduled once a week on Wednesdays. Takeoffs will be at 12:20 a.m. from Mashhad International Airport and return flights will be on the same day from Muscat at 6:30 a.m.,” Mahmoud Amani-Bani was quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi Province, is home to the shrine of eighth Shia Imam. It is a major religious tourist destination in Iran, attracting visitors from many Muslim countries.
