Global Crude Steel Output down 6.8% in 3 Months

Global crude steel production during the first three months of the current year, fell %6.8 YOY, World Steel Association announced.

According to the report of Public Relations of IMIDRO, Global crude steel production during the first 3 months of current year stood at 456.6 Mt, registering a %6.8 fall compared with the corresponding period of the last year, WSA reported.

During March 2022, 64 steel producing countries produced 161 Mt of crude steel, indicating 5.8 percent decrease compared with the March 2021, WSA declared.

Also, World Steel Association report shows that Iran’s steel output during the first 3 months of the current year stood at 6.9 Mt, indicating a %4.4 decrease compared with the same period of the year before. Meanwhile, steel output of Iran during March 2022 were 2.3 Mt, down 6.1 percent YOY.
During this three-month period, China with 243.4 Mt crude steel output, India with 31.9 Mt, Japan with 23 Mt, United States with 20.3 Mt and Russia with 18.7Mt respectively were the world’s top 5 steel producing countries. Meanwhile, Iran still is the 10th biggest steel producer country in the world, WSA reported.
