Speaking to IRNA economic correspondent on Monday, Seyyedi said that a total of 47,096 international flights either landed in or took off from the Iranian airports in the one-year period (ended in March 20) showing a 192% increase in comparison to 16,145 flights made in the preceding year.
He said that the Iranian airports hosted an average monthly 3,925 international flights in the year under review.

The official added that a total 399,415 flights – both domestic and international ones – were made in Iran in the one-year period registering a 44% growth when compared to figures from the preceding year.

He however noted that the number of flights have not increased enough yet to get back to pre-sanctions levels.
