Iran has made the biggest growth in steel production among the world’s top ten steel producers in the first two months of 2022.
A recent report by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation, known as IMIDRO, shows that Iran’s production of crude steel hit 5.3 million tons in January and February posting an 11.8% growth in comparison to the corresponding period of 2021.
The figures suggest that Iran has made the biggest growth in steel production among other world top ten producers in the period under review.
China, Brazil, Turkey, South Korea and Japan registered -10%, -5.8%, -5.7%, 2.6% and 2.4% growth respectively.
India, Germany, Russia and the US followed Iran with 6.6%, 1.1%, 1% and 0.6% growth in steel production respectively.
