It marks Russia's highest monthly output since January 2019. Production averaged 11.27mn b/d in January-April this year, up by 0.8pc compared with the same period last year.

Russia has committed to a crude-only quota of 8.49mn b/d in May-June and 8.99mn b/d in July-December under the new Opec+ pact agreed last month.
