Out of the upcoming pellet capacities, the major ones are those of JSW Group (66 MnT), Tata Steel ( 24 MnT) , JSPL, AMNS etc. Thriveni is also likely to come up with pellet capacity of nearly 24 MnT, he added.
Mr M V Subba Rao, CMD, KIOCL, India shared that developing flux pellets will help Indian pellet makers to capture east Asian markets. However for Middle-East and European markets we should develop BF grade pellets with low gangue, less than 3% along with DR grade pellets for Middle East and European markets, he added.
He also highlighted that we should try to supply pellets through capesize vessels to explore far off markets like US, Brazil etc.
