Iran Finished Steel Output Up 9% Y-o-Y in First Four Months of Current Persian Year

The country’s finished steel output booked a Y-o-Y growth of 9% during the first four months of the current Persian year March 21-July 22). The country produced a total of 4.12 MnT of finished steel products, including hot- and cold-rolled coils, rebar, beams, pipes, wide and galvanized sheets, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s reported.

The organization reported, Mobarakeh Steel Company and its subsidiary Saba Steel recorded the largest share of production with 2.36 MnT and registered the Y-o-Y growth of 2%.

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) with 776,253 MT stood the second largest steel producing company during the first four months and booked a Y-o-Y growth of 7% for itself.  Oxin Steel Company and Khorasan Steel Company are positioned at third and fourth largest steel producers in the first four months with 294,174 MT (up 24% Y-o-Y) and 217,041 MT (up 18% Y-o-Y) respectively.

Production of finished steel products stood at 1.01 MnT in the month to register a 19% growth Y-O-Y.

Semi-finished steel output - A total of 6.86 MnT of ingot, bloom and billet were produced by the country during the four months under review, up 4% Y-o-Y. As for output during the month ending 22 Jul’19, a total of 1.64 MnT of slab, bloom, billet and ingot were produced to register a 9% growth Y-o-Y.
