Severstal contracts Danieli for new pickling line #4

Severstal Group awarded a contract to Danieli for the design, manufacture, supply and commissioning of a new, complete, modern continuous pickling line at its main steel production facility, located in Cherepovets, Vologda Region, Russian Federation.

The new line, based on Danieli patented Turboflo technology, is comprised of four pickling sections and will process more than 2 Mtpy of strip in a wide range of different steel grades, such as Low Carbon; Interstitial Free; Bake-Hardening Interstitial-Free, HSLA and multi-phase HSLA. Processed coils will have a maximum width of 1,850 mm and thicknesses between 1.2 and 6.0 mm.

Advanced electrical and automation systems for the entire line will be developed and supplied by Danieli Automation.

Production of the first pickled coil is foreseen by February 2020.

The Severstal order will be the 165th Danieli Wean United pickling line supplied since 1961.
