ArcelorMittal orders plate mill revamping from Danieli

It will improve the performance of scale removal from plates during rolling and increase plant maintainability
ArcelorMittal orders plate mill revamping from Danieli

Industeel France, part of ArcelorMittal group, assigned to Danieli a significant technological revamping of its plate mill at Le Creusot, France. The plant specializes in top notch flat rolled and forged products for aerospace, defense and nuclear industries.

The purpose of the revamping is to meet an increasing market demand for high-quality surfaces in rolled products.

Quality improvements in rolled product will be achieved by revamping both primary and secondary descalers and by applying the DanHYD technological package, specifically; a brand new pumping room, new hydraulic valves, redesigned ramps and nozzles, and a new electro-mechanical lifting system for the top header will be installed, as well as a dedicated automation system.

This will allow an increased descaling pressure with higher impact force, a larger spray width, a more flexible valves control, and efficient power management at pumps.

Operational cost also will be reduced by maintenance-free design concept, together with a reduction in water and energy consumptions.

The project will be performed on turn-key basis, from design to erection and commissioning.

Also for ArceloMittal Industeel , Danieli has recently completed the revamping of a stainless steel slab caster in Charleroi, Belgium.
