The future of three of Australia's main coal export terminals is uncertain amid lower throughput and high debt levels looming for Queensland's Abbot Point port, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal ( DBCT ) and the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (Wicet) at Gladstone.

Several coal export ports in Queensland, including the major coking coal port of Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal ( DBCT ), have resumed operations over the weekend after disallowing loading and berthing last week because of heavy rains and turbulent seas.

Heavy rain and stormy seas in Australia's Queensland have forced coking coal export terminals at the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal ( DBCT ) and Hay Point to halt vessels from berthing until 15 March. All berthing and loading operations at Abbot Point will also be suspended from tomorrow.
