Cabinet has given a "go ahead" to export iron ore pellets from Karnataka, as per reports. Iron ore will be converted to pellets for exports, which Law minister JC Madhuswamy said is in line with the center’s decision. "It has been decided not to export iron ore from Karnataka. Pellets as value-added product should be exported."

West India (Rajasthan) based pellet maker - Jindal SAW decreased pellet (Fe 63%) offers by INR 150/MT for the week. Current offers are at INR 7,900/MT (delivered Kandla) as against 8,050/MT (delivered Kandla) assessed last week. The pellet maker has booked an export shipment for Nov shipment and thereafter is also likely to take maintenance shutdown for a month's time. Jindal SAW runs a 1.5 MnT pellet plant in Bhilwara (Rajasthan).

The Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd intends to sell various grades of chrome ore (friable) produced at South Kaliapani chromite mines and Sukrangi chromite mines of OMC Ltd in the Sukinda valley of JK Road Region, Jajpur Dist Odisha. OMC Ltd has decided to use the service of MSTC Ltd (a Govt. of India Undertaking) to conduct e-auction for selling off its (OMC) chrome ore. OMC increased the base prices of all grades of Chrome Ore by 15% for October Chrome Ore Auctions in line with the shortage of chrome ore availability with the producers.

Oversupply and low demand are pulling down the seaborne Manganese ore market. Major importers like China and India are postponing their shipments from South Africa as the alloy manufacturers hope the prices to fall further. With the dipping Manganese alloy prices, the producers are approaching to the cost line and the buying interest of steel manufacturers are tepid. In addition to this, the present inventory levels with the producers are restraining them from booking any more consignments.
