Iranian officials in executive and policy making sectors announced their plans in order to simplify foreign investment attraction in 2nd Iran mines and mining industries summit (IMIS 2016).

Hashemi Rafsanjani said in order to simplify foreign investment attraction in mining sector, IMIDRO present its required points to Expediency Discernment Council. Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council expressed the door of Iran mining sector is open for participation of foreign investors. Based on the conducted studies inside and outside of Iran , as having rich and various mines, Iran is among major mining countries around the world but most of these mines are unknown and some explored mines are not active now. Also the most important point is industries required for mines operation. Proper opportunities are available for domestic and foreign companies and foreign governments interested in cooperation with Iran in an area of one million and 600 thousand square kilometers, he added. During the summit, Industry, Mine and Trade Minister announced as recently Corrigendum related to mines rules presented to government, some investors limitations in mining sector will be removed. Mohammadreza Nematzadeh said this action will remove some existence barriers for investors. He noted the new economic situations in Iran and expressed that as improvement international environment we invite foreign investors in order to cooperate and negotiate with Iran in exploration, engineering and mine operation sectors. In this event, Mehdi Karbasian stressed that we invite foreign investors to cooperate with Iran mining sector based on mutual benefits. Mehdi Karbasian while speaking in opening ceremony of second day of 2nd Iran Mine and Mining Industries Summit said IMIS2 is a golden opportunity for Iran to open doors for investors after lifting sanctions .So, we are ready to cooperate with all interested investors in mining sector. He noted the proper position of Iran economy and actions of government and ministry of foreign affairs and continued: "we are keen on cooperation with foreign investors based on mutual benefits and supportive regulations along with support and national commitment for investment are prepared so we can surely start cooperation". Karbasian expressed policies of 11th government and added that policies of Hope and Prudence Government in order to support investors are transparent and economic structures are modified and required appropriate situations are provided for mutation of this sector. Two-day Iran Mine and Mining Industries Summit (IMIS 2016) is being held with participation of domestic and foreign companies on December10-11 in Tehran.
