Mobarakeh Steel Co. First Iranian Company Verified Carbon Accounting

me-metals: A year ago, Mobarakeh Steel became the first Iranian company to establish a verified carbon accounting system, obtaining ISO 14064-1:2018 certification for greenhouse gas emissions management and ISO 14067:2018 certification for product carbon footprint.

According to me-metals cited by Steel Vision, These certifications were formally verified and issued by SGS Singapore under the accreditation of the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC), a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).

With this outstanding A+ rating, Mobarakeh Steel stands as one of only three companies in Asia to hold this level of certification. This milestone helps open the path to European markets as global carbon-transparency requirements, including the EU's CBAM, continue to tighten.

Our carbon data is strictly calibrated against the GHG Protocol, IPCC guidelines, and the Ecoinvent database, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and key elements of Scope 3. Alongside fifteen consecutive years of active participation in the World Steel Association's Climate Action programme since 2010, which places us among only 28 companies worldwide whose carbon data is accepted as a reference benchmark, we remain fully committed to our roadmap of achieving a 30 percent emissions cut by 2031 and complete carbon neutrality by 2051.
