According to me-metals, the ceremony was held at the Shohadaye Salamat Complex in Mashhad in the presence of Jafari, Deputy of Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade for Mining Affairs; Hosseini, an adviser to the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade; the governor of Razavi Khorasan; members of parliament; Rasoulian, CEO of the Sangan Khaf Mining Complex; and a number of senior government officials, industry and mining associations, and sector stakeholders.
Speaking at the ceremony honoring the province’s leading industrial and mining units, Seyed Abbas Hosseini, an adviser to Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, noted that Razavi Khorasan’s strength lies in its mineral resources. Sangan holds the same strategic position for Iran's mining sector that Asalouyeh holds for its oil and gas industry," he said, drawing a parallel between the two key development hubs. Iran, meanwhile, is the world’s 10th-largest steel producer. Countries ranked ahead of Iran have energy resources and, in some cases, do not even have mineral resources. If they have achieved such rankings, it is because they have focused on developing their competitive advantages. Without competitive advantages, countries cannot succeed in an industry; therefore, we must pay attention to this issue.
The governor of Razavi Khorasan also said at the meeting that, despite negative employment growth nationwide, 50 thousand jobs had been created in the province over the past year. He attributed this achievement to cooperation and solidarity between the government and the private sector.
Mozaffari said that government officials have no right to sit behind their desks and formulate solutions detached from realities on the ground. “Our job should be to resolve problems and remove bureaucratic obstacles from the path of production and investment,” he said.
