Installation of Filter Press at Mehdi Abad Lead and Zinc Complex Completed
Process of filter press installation in Mehdi Abad plant was completed, Mehdi Abad Lead and Zinc Complex’ manager announced.
According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, the filtration circuit of the plant consists of two filter presses for dehydration of lead concentrate and zinc concentrate, which have been designed and manufactured by Italian MATEC Company during one year, Hamidreza Hemayat, manager of Mehdi Abad Lead and Zinc Complex said.
High technology has been used in design and manufacture processes of the filter press. So, dehydration of particles with 10 microns dimension is done by applying the pressure above20 times, which is unprecedented in the country’s industry, he added.
Thus, the above mentioned filter press is able to produce10 tons of lead concentrate and 18 tons of zinc concentrate with 10 percent humidity per hour, Hemayat emphasized.
Mehdi Abad lead and zinc mine ,the largest lead and zinc mine in Iran and with an estimated investment of more than $1 billion, is considered as one of the most important projects of mining industries in Iran in order to feed plants for lead and zinc ingot production, he continued.
By construction of lead and zinc plants in this complex, about 2.5 percent of global zinc metal will be supplied. At present, the construction of the first processing plant has more than 67 percent physical progress. According to the plan, this plant will be operated during the next Iranian year (March21, 2022_March 20, 2023), Hemayat declared.
